Idle Calculator Support

Idle Calculator is an idle game about arithmetic, for iPhone and iPad, from Pretty Good Programs. This page is how you reach someone about it, and what to try first.

Getting in touch

There is no support queue and no ticket system. Idle Calculator is written by one person, Sebastian Benad, in his own time, and a message about it reaches him directly.

A reply can take a few days. Anything that loses your progress or stops you playing is looked at first.

Reporting a problem

Four things make a bug report something that can actually be fixed, and without them a reply is usually just a request for them:

  • your device, for example iPhone 14 or iPad Air
  • your iOS version, which is in Settings, General, About
  • the Idle Calculator version, which is at the bottom of the app’s own settings screen
  • what you were doing when it went wrong, and what you expected instead

A screenshot or a screen recording is worth more than all four.

Things you can do without us

Two things are worth knowing before you write, because they are the questions this page would otherwise get most:

  • Your save is on your device and nowhere else. There is no account in this version and no cloud backup, so deleting the app deletes the game, and a new phone starts a new game.
  • Clearing the app’s data, or deleting the app, removes everything the game stored. There is nothing left behind and nothing held by us.

If progress has gone missing, say what happened just before: an update, a reinstall, a device transfer, or the app closing on its own. Those have different causes and only one of them is a bug we can fix.

Privacy

What Idle Calculator does and does not collect is written out in full on its own page, including how to get rid of anything it holds.

Feature requests

They are welcome and they are read. Both apps are side projects rather than products with a roadmap, so the honest answer to most of them is that it will happen if it is a good idea and there is a free evening.
